fight? flight?
Sometimes its hard to work through some emotions. It seems even harder when you have no choice but to work through them. if you could press a button and make them go away, you know most of us would. I am not usually one to run away from my problems but i would have loved to say "next!" to this particular one. In this case i suppose you could say I would gladly take the flight option.
today in church, we learnt about the different ways of dealing with conflict or problems. You could use the fight option: be confrontational and aggressive, accusatory and angry. or the flight option: turning a blind eye, playing along and hating every moment of it... there is a third option and i love this one.
FOCUS
In this approach, you express how you feel about a situation clearly, and without malice, accusation or judgment. you simply state your case. You may also include things that you see as results or consequences of that action. However, in this approach, you do not go on to tell the other person how to deal with it or how to solve or. in short, you don't tell them what to do. Leave the choice up to him or her and hope that you have reached them. this respects the autonomy of the other person and makes them feel that they are indeed having discourse with you rather than you talking at them and trying to push them around.
I thought this to be a good approach. FOCUS. I would love to focus on what I am dealing with now, but i have no idea how to. Mostly this is because i have not yes figured out what my problem with the situation is. How am i expected to express what i cant name? its frustrating because, at the same time, i feel that pressing feeling that there IS something wrong and its choking me.
Sigh!! I think it will be a while before I figure this out....I pray for wisdom. Lord I pray for ocurage, dignity, humility and clarity. I need you r help on this one

Heavenly standards - The virtuous woman (part 1)
A virtuous woman is slow to speak and quick to pray. She seeks the Lord before indulging pride.she heeds wise council and finds ways to put across her point without malice and vindictiveness, clearly.
She is no push over though....When something needs to be said, she will say it with the same grace and dignity with which she carries herself. in her simple ways, she sets her boundaries and makes her stance known with her actions and a few words.
She is pleasant and kind.She is intelligent and perceptive. The knowledge and fear of the Lord is her source....( i like nabal's wife 1 Sam 25)
She works hard working and looks after her home and family with love.
Lord i strive to be this kind of woman.

The first call/Army of termites
Slowly I watched it grow
From a speck to a row
Mesmerized I watched as they came
One, two,three, four, scores and scores of them
Fascinated I beheld them build it
Fashion and mould it
Giving their time, and energy to it
Risking all…..even their lives for it
Carrying twice, maybe thrice their own size
Dragging, lifting, stumbling, falling
So their dream they realize
But soon their labor was rewarded for the row
That single line was no more
It changed, always reforming
Continuously morphing
There were others near-by working as diligently as they
Every single day
They had no time to play
From sand, sticks and clay
they built their display
Soon there were joined by the ones from before
And still others joined them until…….
Until…..
In awe
I saw
From a speck
They could make
A mound, a hill, a mountain!
So I called to my brothers
Shouted to my sisters
Come! Come!
Let us like the mighty___ army___ of tiny___Termites
begin to build!
Come let us begin to fight
They weren’t each
Able to do much
But these small soldiers teach!
Like them let us harness the power of us
The strength of ‘we’!
Each in their own way,
Starting today
Let us obey
The voice of mother earth as she calls us to become
A TERMITE ARMY
Breaking down barriers,
Rebuilding bridges
Fighting the forces of hate and discrimination
Rebelling against oppression
Dealing a fatal blow to segregation
Let us create a new reality
Cultivate new hope and become
AN ARMY OF TERMITES
Where there was nothing, let us be something
Where there was a menace, with love we shall replace
And when our mountain has risen high and brave
Let us too take our place
Our fate embrace
Do it with a smile on our face
And a song for our dance
Then we will be
AN ARMY OF TERMITES!
